There’s something magical about December. The lights, the cozy evenings, the slower mornings, and the gentle tug toward reflection. But it also comes with full schedules, rich foods, sugar everywhere, and routines that tend to wobble.

That’s why this month, more than ever, is about supporting your body instead of fighting it. When we keep our blood sugar steadier, we protect our energy, mood, hormones, and our sense of calm...which we all need a little extra of during the holidays.

Here are a few simple, doable December blood sugar hacks that can make a world of difference:

✨ 1. Start your day with protein + fresh fruit/veg

Think Greek yogurt bowls with fruit and seeds, eggs with veggies, cottage cheese with berries, chia pudding, or warm oats with hemp hearts.Protein first stabilizes appetite, reduces cravings, and keeps your mood even as the day gets busier.

✨ 2. The “holiday plate” formula

When you’re at gatherings or buffets:

  • Fill half your plate with veggies

  • Add a palm-sized portion of protein

  • Choose the carbs you truly want (not the ones you feel obligated to take)

  • And remember -the order you eat matters. Veggies → protein → carbs helps soften glucose spikes.

✨ 3. Never go to an event hungry

This is a game-changer. A handful of nuts, some Greek yogurt, or a quick protein bite beforehand helps regulate cravings, prevents overeating, and keeps your blood sugar from swinging.

✨ 4. A 10-minute walk after meals

This one is pure magic.Just a short stroll helps your muscles soak up circulating glucose and keeps you energized rather than sluggish.

✨ 5. Be mindful with holiday drinks

Alcohol + sugar + no food = guaranteed glucose roller coaster. Try:

  • Pairing drinks with protein

  • Choosing lower-sugar options

  • Alternating with water

  • swapping with mock tails

  • Stopping before you hit the “I’m starving” feeling later

✨ 6. Keep something grounding in your routine

A daily walk, your nighttime stretch, your morning quiet moment, a cozy tea ritual ..these small habits keep you anchored when everything else feels rushed.

💫 This December, choose nourishment over perfection.

You don’t need to restrict. You don’t need to earn your holiday meals. And you absolutely don’t need to feel guilty for enjoying festive food.

Just give your body what helps it feel supported..steady blood sugar, balanced meals, a mindful pace ..and the rest falls into place.

Here’s to a month of warmth, intention, hormone harmony, and feeling good in your skin.

You deserve that. Every day of the year .. but especially now.

ENJOY!! ❤
