Thereās something about the first day of October that feels like a reset. The air turns crisp, the days get shorter, and nature reminds us that change is not only natural, itās beautiful. Just as the trees let go of their leaves, this season invites us to let go of whatās no longer serving us and welcome in fresh routines.

From a nutrition perspective, October is such a nourishing month. Cooler weather calls for warmer, grounding foods that fuel us with steady energy and comfort. Think soups, stews, roasted veggies, pumpkin, squash, apples, and hearty greens. These seasonal foods arenāt just cozy, theyāre loaded with nutrients:
šPumpkin & squashĀ bring beta-carotene (vitamin A) for immune support.
šApples & pearsĀ give fiber for digestion and blood sugar balance.
š„¬Dark leafy greensĀ like kale and spinach are packed with iron, calcium, and antioxidants.
š Root veggiesĀ (sweet potatoes, carrots, beets) provide slow-digesting carbs to keep energy stable.
This shift in seasons also reminds us to tune into our bodies. We may crave heartier meals, earlier bedtimes, and slower routines and thatās okay. Nourishing ourselves means not just with food, but with rest, movement, and moments of calm.
So as we step into October, think about one small change youād like to carry into the month. Maybe itās meal prepping a hearty soup once a week, getting outside for a crisp morning walk, or setting aside time to declutter and create more peace at home.
š October invites us to nourish, ground, and embrace the beauty of change, inside and out.
